Wang Fei has a song called《彼岸花》. In fact, it’s not about a particular flower—it’s pointing to an ancient Greek myth.

This story is called:赫洛与勒安得耳

赫洛与勒安得耳 is a Greek myth. On the Asian shore of the Hellespont—the strait separating Europe and Asia—there is a city called 阿卑多斯. Inside the city, a handsome young man lives named Leandros (in Greek:Λέανδρος, also: 利安德). Across the strait, in 塞斯托斯, there is a young woman named Hero (in Greek:Ἡρώ, also: 希罗), who serves as a priestess of 阿芙洛狄忒.

Hero and Leandros fall in love. Every night, Leandros swims across the water to meet Hero, and Hero always lights a torch to guide his direction. Later, on a stormy night, the torch is blown out, and Leandros drowns. The next morning, when Hero sees Leandros’s body on the shore, she jumps into the water and dies by suicide.1
